Octopuses raise funds for EAST!

On Tuesday 21st March, our Chief Bosun John Maxwell paid a visit to the lovely Harbourside Kitchen which is located at the entrance to Levington Marina to collect a very generous donation of over £125 from staff member Beryl which she wanted to give to EAST.

Beryl and EAST Chief Bosun John Maxwell with one of Beryl's knitted Octopuses. .

Beryl is very fond of knitting and has been making baby octopuses (no, not octopi!) which have been selling like hot cakes with the money collected being donated to help with our activities at EAST. We have yet to hear the outcome of a raffle that Beryl organised with Suzanne and Jenny (who work at the Kitchen) of an Easter Bunny; that was of course knitted by Beryl!

This very kind donation will go towards the sessions we provide for young sailors who may have physical or emotional challenges and enjoy the sensation of a couple of hours out on the River Orwell in our keelboats. As we charge towards the end of April, our new season will soon be upon us and all help is greatly appreciated so thank you so much Beryl.

When you are at Levington, be sure to pop in for a delicious cake or panini at The Harbourside! https://harboursidekitchen.co.uk/
