Update (Covid 19)

To all EAST Members, Sailors and Volunteers,

Following on the email sent on Tuesday 17th March, as you are all no doubt aware the global situation has escalated further and UK Government advice has been significantly updated. In view of this and the additional advice and guidance available to us from the RYA, the Trustees of EAST have decided that all Sailing and Training activities planned by both VI Cruising and Keelboats should be suspended for the immediate future.

It is hoped we will be able to resume our sailing activities at some time later in the season when the situation will hopefully start to improve, The management of the charity will continue as normal and the EAST Website will continue to inform on developments. However the current indications are that this will take more than a few weeks. Please continue to monitor the EAST Website which will be regularly updated.

This decision has not been taken lightly and it is accepted that this will have a social and financial impact on the work of the charity this season. However we will continue to actively monitor the situation and will be led by Government Advice. We recommend that all members follow the guidance issued by Public Health England regarding your own personal circumstances. Further information will be issued when appropriate.
