The 2022 EAST Sailing Season has started!!

The Keelboat sessions start today. Thanks to many, many volunteers under the guidance of John Maxwell, chief bosun, the Sonars are all spick and span after their winter maintenance. They have had furling jibs fitted which means the jibs can be easily unfurled and furled away from the cockpit whilst sailing. Volunteers have enjoyed shakedown sail days, refresher days on using the checking in system, hoist and the radios. The arrival and getting aboard procedure has been changed to make it smoother for all. keelboatsec@e-a-s-t.org.uk

The First 2022 EAST Cruise for visually Impaired crew is this weekend. May 6th/8th. There are 9 yachts in the fleet with a total of 41 skippers and crew. The weekend is aimed at first time crew. The yachts will explore the local rivers and coastal area to give a taster experience of being a 'hands-on' crew. The social side is an important part of the cruise, meeting new people and catching up with old friends. The yachts are all owned and sailed by volunteer skippers and crew. cruisingsec@e-a-s-t.org.uk
