APSC Commodore goes out for an EAST Taster Sail!!

Not sure what the joke is about but Andy said he had a grand day out with us on a Taster Sail with the East Anglian Sailing Trust Cruising Section. Andy is the commodore of the Adastral Park Sailing Club based at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, Levington.

Since the 1980s EAST have been sailing from SYH with visually impaired and blind crew. In the photo Simon, on the helm, is blind. Dave Angless in the foreground is a regular Sonar skipper at EAST.

EAST is now looking for more yachts to join their cruises as the number of visually impaired people looking to come along is increasing. If you think you maybe interested in finding out more or coming on a taster sail please phone or email me. Judith Hedges 01394 272677 judithhedges@btopenworld.com. (an APSC member)

We are having a skippers meeting on November 7th at 10.00 in the EAST clubroom towards the end of SYH, beyond the Sea School. This is for current skippers and for potential new skippers.

We run a 2 day cruise, a 3/4 day cruise and an 8 day cruise each year. The number of yachts taking part in each cruise varies from 5 to 10. The cruises are always great fun with all the usual sailing banter, giving the V I and sighted crew a great experience.
