Life on the ocean wave for youngsters at sailing discovery day

Youngsters discovered the joys of sailing at a special event hosted by the East Anglian Sailing Trust (EAST), a charity that provides sailing for people with disabilities.
Children with learning difficulties from Felixstowe Academy and Farlingaye High School, Woodbridge, joined in a Discovery Competition Day of fun and competition on and off the water at Suffolk Yacht
Harbour at Levington.
Bill Smith from EAST said: “It’s touching to see the staff from the schools gasp as they see children who might normally be withdrawn join in with, and excel at, sailing activities as well as engaging with the others in their groups. “These events are a joy for all involved and we greatly appreciate the funding from Touching the Tide that makes them possible.”
On Discovery Competition Days schools compete in on-shore and off-shore sailing competitions – Felixstowe
Academy were the winners.
