New boat to support sailing charity's work

East Anglian Sailing Trust (EAST), a charity that provides sailing for people with disabilities has ordered a new powerboat to bolster their fleet

EAST's Training Centre Principal Brian Honour placed the order for the new powerboat with XS Ribs at the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show. The boat will play a vital role in supporting the groups expanding programme of sailing activities during the week and at weekends and is expected to arrive early in the summer.

Bill Smith, chairman of EAST, said: “This boat will make a huge difference to EAST because of the advances in technology, communications and engine design. We chose this boat because XS has a proven track record and a willingness by the builder to adapt the boat to our needs and we can’t wait to put it through its paces this summer. We hope that once people see the difference it makes to our sailors, they might like to make a donation to the Trust so it will continue providing this worthwhile service to the disabled community.”
