Morning arrival 10.00 am for
briefing and safety and boats ready
to launch between 10.30-11.00am
• Lunch provided in Club House
at 1.00pm
• Afternoon session 2.00-4.30pm
• We will be using our three Sonars.
The Sonar is a 7 metre, 23 feet,
one-design keelboat
• The Sonar showcased disabled
sailing at the 1996 Paralympic Games
• We will prioritise the BADER
BRAVE’s but you will all have a go!
• Each Sonar will be skippered by a RYA qualified skipper and will also have a competent crew
• We also have two shore duties to assist in the case of an emergency. They are on the water in our rib,
rigid inflatable safety boat
• On the day, the best clothes are trainers and casual wear. Please do remember that it is colder out on
water; do bring an anorak, a hat and gloves
• You will be kitted out with a lifejacket and, should it be necessary, we can also offer the use of
some waterproofs
• Facilities in the building include disabled toilets, changing facilities, a large room with tables
and chairs, adjoining kitchen where you can order lunch from menu provided by DBF
• All equipment, wet suits, spray tops, helmets and buoyancy aids are supplied
